BHUBANESWAR: Governor Mr. M. C. Bhandare has underscored the role of the people in general and of the youth in particular to expedite the development process at the grass root level. Addressing the fifth annual meet of the Kendrapada Zilla Bikash Parishad, a Development Council set up by the citizens of the district who are based in the State capital, at the Jayadev Bhawan here on Saturday, Mr. Bhandare appreciated the efforts of the Parishad in dealing with different issues of the district through a positive attitude. The people of Kendrapada have shown the way, he said and urged upon the people of the State to work towards the progress of their respective regions in an identical fashion. Tourism potentialDistrict Collector Mr. S. K. Panda, who also addressed the meet, emphasised on progress through partnership through a collaborative approach between various people’s organisations of the district and the district administration. The district has got huge tourism potential for the Bhitarakanika sanctuary, he felt. Noted cardiologist of the nation Dr. Kabi Prasad Mishra, a revered scholar and orator on the cult of Lord Jagannath, also addressed the gathering and elaborated the significance of the Baldevjew temple of Kendrapara.
