KOCHI: The CPI(ML) has criticised CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan’s remarks that the call for a so-called ‘second land reform movement’ was just ‘revolutionary gibberish’ and the slogan of ‘extremists.’ P.J. James, CPI(ML) State secretary, said that by terming the call as extremists’ agenda, Mr. Vijayan was denying the entire tradition of communist agrarian struggles such as in Telengana. He pointed out that agrarian revolution, with the objective of giving land ownership to farm workers and other landless poor, was a basic agenda of communism and by denying this Mr. Vijayan was disowning communism’s basic tenets.— Special Correspondent
