Srinagar: Holding the State administration responsible for the present crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference president Omar Abdullah on Sunday demanded compensation to the fruit growers for the losses suffered by them due to the ‘economic blockade’ by Amarnath Sangrash Samiti in Jammu. “The creation ... of the present crisis is not of fruit growers. It is the creation of administration and the fruit growers should be compensated for the losses suffered by them,” he told reporters here. He said the compensation should be at the prevailing market rate and not at the rate fixed by the government. He added that the administration was responsible for the losses suffered by them. -- PTI
