NEYVELI: P.S. Nirmal Kumar’s all-round performance (three for 14 and 48 not out) was the highlight of Tiruchi’s five-wicket win over Cuddalore in a league encounter of the TNCA under-16 inter-district cricket tournament here on Sunday. The scores: At Neyveli: Karur 100 in 47 overs (D.D. Chandrasekar four for 17) lost to Tiruvallur 101 for two in 19.4 overs. Cuddalore 171 in 45.3 overs (S. Santhanadevan 45 not out, Sabarinivas 44, P.S. Nirmal Kumar three for 14, Siddhanth Mittal three for 41) lost to Tiruchi 174 for five in 38.4 overs (P.S. Nirmal Kumar 48 not out, Praveen Kumar 48). At Pudukottai: Pudukottai 98 in 30.4 overs (Rajasekar 36, Chandraprasad three for 15) lost to Puducherry 100 for two in 20.5 overs (Arunpandian 32 not out). Krishnagiri drew with Vellore (match abandoned due to rain).
