BANGALORE: It was a wet start to the KSCA all-India invitation cricket tournament here on Sunday but centuries by C.B. Karthik for KSCA Colts and Tahir Abbas for Uttar Pradesh CA, however, brightened the proceedings. At the RSI ground, where the match began late and was reduced to 89-overs-a-side, KSCA Colts, thanks to a belligerent and unbeaten 136 by Karthik which included 13 fours and a six, made 275 for four in 77 overs against Punjab CA. At the KSCA (turf), the Uttar Pradesh batsmen made merry against an insipid KSCA President’s XI attack to pile up a huge score. Tahir Abbas slammed 139 with 19 fours and a six. The scores: KSCA Colts: 275 for four in 77 overs (C.B. Karthik 136 not out, Sudhindra Shinde 83) v Punjab CA. Uttar Pradesh CA 400 in 98.5 overs (Tahir Abbas 139, Parminder Singh 78 , S. Aravind four for 98 ) v KSCA President’s XI. Tamil Nadu CA 237 for eight in 82 overs (S. Suresh Kumar 59 batting) v Hyderabad CA. Kerala CA 153 in 60.1 overs (Ishwar Chaudhri four for 42) v Gujarat CA 23 for no loss in seven overs.
