Semifinalists spotted

BANGALORE: Monisha Vinayak entered the women’s singles semifinals of the M.S. Ramaiaih Anandashram memorial state-ranking badminton championship with a 21-5, 21-6 win over M. Bala at the Prakash courts here on Sunday. The other semifinalists are Soumya Padhye, Jacqueline Kunnath and Ruth Misha.

The results (quarterfinals): Women’s singles: Monisha Vinayak bt M. Bala 21-5, 21-6; Soumya Padhye bt Uttara Prakash 21-16, 21-9; Jacqueline Kunnath bt G.M. Nischitha 21-9, 21-13; Ruth Misha w/o Sneha Rao.
