TP leaders contemplating joining either the NTPP or Chiranjeevi’s party drop their plans Some adopt wait and watch approach in view of rumours of an alliance between TDP and TRS ADILABAD: It now looks certain that T. Devender Goud’s Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) and actor Chiranjeevi’s yet to be named political outfit will face in Adilabad district the problems associated with lack of experienced leadership. Unlike in other districts, both the parties have failed to attract leaders who have some face value leaving only youngsters and new faces to gravitate towards the organizations. Style of operationIt can be inferred that the efficacy of the youth in the political arena will only go abegging in the absence of experienced leaders to properly channelise their energies. The style of operation of the two units in question in the district buttresses this contention. The present NTPP leadership here seems to have taken over from where Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrashekhara Rao has temporarily left voicing concern on injustices to the region. The Chiranjeevi brigade on the other hand, comprising mostly of his fans, is busy in organizing rallies and raising slogans in praise of the star. Sizable followingWhen Devender Goud launched his party, it was rumoured that S. Venugopalachary, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesman would join forces with him. Had the entry of the latter materialised it would have made a great difference in the NTPP’s political fortune because he still has a sizable following in the district despite two successive electoral losses. Rumours afloatMany of his ilk, chiefly from the TDP, who were contemplating joining either the NTPP or Chiranjeevi’s party dropped their plans as the rumours began to float regarding an alliance between TRS and TDP in Telangana. These leaders apparently thought it better to wait and watch. The Chiranjeevi fans in Adilabad district were very active in terms of social work especially organizing blood donation camps. However, when it came to politics, they seem to have given their consent to work under anyone who will essentially be categorised as an outsider. GroupismGroupism also seems to have hit the Chiranjeevi organization at this stage itself as was evident from two rallies that were taken out in the district head quarters on Sunday in connection with the actor’s press conference. Two persons who made it good in respective businesses are the front runners in claim for leadership at present. The two rallies were organised by these aspirants separately.
