Talk on Gandhian viewpoint on economy
|
GUNTUR: The mad race for possessing articles of materialistic comfort and globalisation of the economy were leading to downgrading of human relations in general.
All India Sarvodaya Mandali president Sugal Bharat detailed the Gandhian viewpoint on the Indian economy and business, at a talk on the topic organised by Gandhian Studies Centre on Acharya Nagarjuna University campus.
Traditional values in economy and business were needed most at this juncture in the Indian economy, he observed.
Opportunities in the village for self-help that once existed were completely destroyed and globalisation in every sphere of life had led to wider disparities between the haves and have-nots, he said.
The economic divide was clearly visible between the poor and the rich, which was inciting violent and terrorist tendencies among members of the poorer sections of society, he added.
Gandhian Studies Coordinator MV Ramkumar Ratnam presided over the meeting.
