THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kerala, M.K. Ramachandran Nair, will leave office on Monday. On August 19, 2004, he assumed charge as the 18th Vice-Chancellor of the university. Prior to that, he had been the Director of the Institute of Management in Kerala for 11 years. Dr. Nair began his teaching career in colleges in 1970. He had served at the Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram, at the government colleges at Chittoor, Madappally and Malappuram and at Pioneer Kumaraswamy College, Nagarcoil. His tenure at the University of Kerala began in 1979 as a lecturer at the Institute of Distance Education. He has supervised the doctoral research programmes in commerce and management of 21 candidates. Dr. Ramachandran Nair will be given a send-off at 3.30 p.m. on Monday at a meeting to be held at the Senate Hall, a press note issued here by the university said.
