BANGALORE: Murderers targeting lonely women at home struck once again on Saturday night. A woman who was alone in the house was murdered in Hallmark Layout in Hebbagodi. The police said Dakshayayini (28) and her husband Manjunath, a tailor, went to drop their five-year-old son to school. Later, Manjunath went to work at a tailoring unit in Jayanagar. When he returned in the night, Manjunath found his wife dead. The police said Dakshayayini’s throat was slit and her gold chain was missing. The Hebbagodi police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating. Body foundA body of 25-year-old woman was found by the roadside in Mayasandra near Attibele, bordering Tamil Nadu, on Saturday. The police suspected that the woman could be from Tamil Nadu. The body was burnt, they said. The Attibele police are in touch with their counterparts in Tamil Nadu in an effort to identify the victim. Cash lostA doctor from Bihar lost Rs. 70,000 in cash here on Sunday. He and his daughter are in the city to attend COMED-K counselling for an engineering seat for his daughter scheduled for Monday. According to the High Grounds police, Amit Mishra and his daughter checked into a room at a hotel in Gandhinagar in the morning. The police said Dr. Mishra and his daughter left the hotel in the afternoon and returned at about 4 p.m. at which point they realised that the money was missing.
