Fillip to films: Chief Minister Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurating the Ramanaidu Studios on the Beach Road in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. VISAKHAPATNAM: Located atop an imposing hill, encircled by verdant environs and facing the shimmering, blue waters of Bay of Bengal, the Dr. Ramanaidu Film Studios which was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Sunday, is yet another rare jewel in the crown of the city of destiny. Visakhapatnam has a special place in the development of the State and the studios of Dr. Ramanaidu would be an unique tourist attraction, Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy said in his five-minute inaugural speech. In his welcome address, Dr. Ramanaidu said that construction of a film studio with all modern facilities for production of a film was his long cherished dream. Now it had materialised. It would occupy a pride of place and would emerge as a special tourist attraction centre, he said. Ministers Anam Ramnarayana Reddy (Information and Cinematography), Kanna Lakshminaryanaya (Transport), Galla Arunakumari (Health), Pilli Subhasha Chandra Bose (BC Welfare), MP T. Subbarami Reddy, MLC Revu Ratnakumari, MLAs Karri Sitaram, Karanam Dharma Sri, Dronamraju Srinivas, Tippala Gurumurthy Reddy and Pudi Mangapati Rao attended the function. The extent of land allotted was 35 acres and the studio was built on nine acres.
