Sathiyan bags three titles

CHENNAI: G. Sathiyan of SDAT (Chandra Academy) bagged three titles in the J.V.S. Rao Memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament, which concluded here on Sunday.

Easy win for St. Joseph’s (Tiruchi)

St. Joseph’s College (Tiruchi) chalked out a comfortable 29-2, 29-3 win over Vel Srinivasa College (Chennai) on Sunday in a ball badminton quarterfinal match of the Bertram tournament being conducted by the Loyola College here.

Venkat sizzles

Southpaw S. Venkat Vasan’s unbeaten 167 (272b, 23x4) powered Districts I to 316 for six against Districts IV on the first day of the two-day TNCA pre-round-robin under-19 cricket tournament for districts here on Sunday.

At close, Districts IV was 14 for no loss.
