Five injured in group clash

Bangalore: Five persons were injured when members owing allegiance to two groups clashed in Srinivasanagar on Sunday. The police said that a group of eight persons stormed into a salon in Srinivasanagar where Mantri alias Raghu and his four accomplices were present.
Mantri, who is an accused in some criminal cases, and his accomplices, were assaulted by unidentified members. The injured have been admitted to Victoria Hospital. “This looks like a fight between two rival gangs. We are investigating the motive behind the attack,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) S. Ravi. The Channammana Kere Achchakattu police have registered a case.
Suspended
A sub-inspector working in the Tavarekere police station has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty and misconduct. Superintendent of Police, Ramanagaram, Krishna Bhat, took the action following a disciplinary inquiry.
Mr. Bhat said sub-inspector Shankarachari was accused of dereliction of duty and misconduct on several occasions after he joined workAn inquiry was conducted and he was suspended, he added.
