Two 660 MW thermal power plants to be set up in Jhajjar district CHANDIGARH: CLP Power India, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Brandler on Monday assured Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda that the company would follow the time schedule for commissioning of two 660 MW super critical technology thermal power plants being set up in Jhajjar district. Mr. Hooda stressed the need for timely completion of the power project. It may be recalled that the Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGCL) had, on August 7 signed a Share Purchase Agreement with CLP Power for procurement of 1,320 MW power for 25 years. Mr. Brandler described Haryana as a very progressive State and hoped that the power project would be expanded in the future. He also offered to help the people of the area by setting up training institutes and schools. Mr. Hooda suggested setting up Industrial Training Institutes as his regime was keen to generate enough employment in the changing scenario. Principal Secretary to Mr. Hooda M.L.Tayal and Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Power) Ashok Lavasa were present.
