SIRSI: Canara MP Anantkumar Hegde told a press conference in Sirsi on Monday that terrorist activities have been going on in certain places in Uttara Kannada district for the past 15 years. Though the suspected activities had been brought to the notice of the Government, action was yet to be taken, he said He was referring to a report which said that the mastermind of the Gujarat serial bomb blasts, Mufti Abdul Bashir, had visited a terrorist training camp in Castlerock village in the district bordering Goa, some time ago. A special police operation should be taken up in the resorts of Ganeshgudi and Castlerock, he said. WelcomedMr. Hegde welcomed the Government’s decision to handover the administration of Gokarn temple to the Ramachandrapur Math in Hosnagar. Sirsi Municipal Council president Ramesh Achari, BJP Urban unit president Rajesh Shetty, vice-president Shrikant Naik and taluk panchayat member R.D. Hegde were present.
