Shimla: With reports of a large number of vehicles laden with apples stranded in Shimla, Kullu and other places due to rain and landslides, the State Government on Monday held a meeting to review relief and restoration operations in apple growing areas. Horticulture Minister Narendra Bragta said after the meeting that all National Highways would be opened immediately by clearing blockage caused due to rain and landslides. He said efforts were afoot to restore smooth movement of traffic and added about 80 JCB machines have been pressed into service for clearing the roads in Shimla district. — PTI
