Directive to local bodies on land

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Local Self-Government Paloli Mohamed Kutty has asked local bodies to prevent poramboke land, canals and ponds under their control from getting alienated. The Minister asked them to immediately fence lands and ponds belonging to them and put up boards showing ownership. Vacant buildings should be used for public purposes. The head or standing committee chairmen of the local bodies should conduct site inspections. — Special Correspondent
