Gathering support

KOLAR GOLD FIELDS: The activists of Joint Committee of Trade Unions (JCTU) conducted a jatha in several places in town on Sunday, to mobilise support for the all India strike scheduled on August 20. Led by JCTU convenor S. Savaridas, Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretaries G. Arjunana, Tangaraj, A.R Babu and others, the committee members appealed to workers, bank and government employees to participate in the strike against the anti-people policies of the UPA Government, including its failure to contain inflation. — Staff Correspondent
