Irfan, Wasim scalp four each

VIJAYAWADA: ACA President’s XI restricted ACA Secretary XI to 179 in 70.4 overs in the three-day selection match for ACA South Zone u-16 team at Anantapur, according to information received here on Monday.

The scores: ACA Secretary’s XI 179 in 70.4 overs (Vikram Surya Teja 63, Irfan four for 47, Wasim four for 37) v ACA President’s XI 53 for thee in 23 overs (Imtiyaz 41).

Krishna takes lead

West Godavari scored a paltry 41 against Krishna in the two-day ACA Central Zone u-16 inter-district tournament for the Valluri Kesava Rao Trophy at Guntur on Monday. In reply, Krishna was 55 for six in 27 overs.

The scores: West Godavari 41 in 26.1 overs (Sk. Shajahan three for 17, Somasekhar three for 11) v Krishna 55 for six in 27 overs (Sneha Kishore four for six).

Big win for VPSPS

VPS Public School scored a 138-run win over SRRZP High School in the Krishna district inter-school knockout cricket tournament here on Monday. R. Gowtham (six for 17) for VPS was the pick of the bowlers.

The scores: VPSPS 177 for nine in 50 overs (Koutilya Kumar Goud 48, Vagmi Choudary 42, Gamala Nayak three for 19) bt SRRZP HS 39 in 9.4 overs (R. Gowtham six for 17).

Junior badminton team

An eight-member AP junior badminton has been selected to take part in the South Zone championship to be held at Puducherry from September 28 to 30.

The squad: Boys: Guru Sai Dutt, S. Aravind, Ravi Raj, Naveen Kumar; Girls: N. Sikki Reddy, P.V. Sindhu, T. Lalitha, Manisha.

Coaches: Rajendra Kumar (Hyd) and Venkat (Nandyal); Managers: Satyanaranana (Tirupati) and Dwarakanath (Nellore).
