‘Madras Week’ events today

CHENNAI: The following programmes are being organised on Tuesday as part of ‘Madras Week’ celebrations.

‘Madras Heritage’ – Live presentation contest for city schools at Sastri Hall, Ranade Library, Luz Corner, Mylapore, from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

An exhibition of Early Portraits of Madras – Etchings, Engravings and Aquatints from the private collection of V.Narayan Swami at The Art Gallery, C.P. Art Centre, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Talk on ‘The Greening of Chennai’ by Shobha Menon at the Rotary Club of Madras South, Hotel Savera, 6.30 p.m. [For Rotarians and their guests only]

‘Walking with a camera in Madras,’ Chennai Heritage- Madras Musings Lecture Series, by G.Chandrachoodan at Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan, 4, Rutland Gate, 5th Street, Nungambakkam, 6.30 p.m.

‘Annaalaya Chennai Kolaigal’ (Murders in Old Madras), Chennai Heritage with Avvai Kalai Kazhagam, Madras Musings Lecture Series (Tamil) by Randor Guy at 15/9, Somu Chetty, 4th Lane, Royapuram, 6.30 p.m.

‘Madras and the Independence Movement’, Roja Muthiah Research Library, Taramani, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

‘Madras – Impressions from the 18th to the 20th Century,’ Drawing and painting exhibition by P. Krishnamoorthy, Gallery Sri Parvati, Eldams Road, from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

‘Mylapore: Photo exhibition’ by the Chennai Photowalkers, Vanilla Place, 8/57, 1st Street, Luz Avenue, Mylapore, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
