Man wanted in criminal cases held
NEW DELHI: A 32-year-old man allegedly involved in cases of murder and vehicle theft has been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police. A country-made firearm has been seized from him.
Acting on a tip-off that Ajay Tiwari, who was allegedly involved in 17 criminal cases, would come to Burari Chowk to meet an accomplice, the police laid a trap and arrested him.
During interrogation, he purportedly disclosed that he was initiated into the world of crime in 1993 when he and his accomplice tried to kill a local leader at Ferozabad in Uttar Pradesh. He then shifted base to Delhi and started living in Ashok Vihar. He came in contact with a local criminal and at his instance, allegedly murdered two girls in 1993. The same year, he was allegedly involved in another murder.
