Kamal Nath not in race for CM post

Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath on Monday said here that neither he was in the race for the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister’s post nor any one was being projected by the Congress party as Chief Ministerial candidate in the forthcoming Assembly election. Talking to media here, Mr. Nath said the unity of the State Congress would be demonstrated at the Chhindwara rally on Aug. 22.

Earlier addressing representatives of local bodies organised by the State party unit, Mr. Nath accused the BJP-led Government of making false promises and said the Government had failed to put the State on the fast track of development. He said that M.P. continued to be counted among the most backward States while Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan kept harping on his “achievements on the development front.” He took a dig at the Chief Minister stating that Mr. Chauhan had a tendency to divert people’s attention.
