Rice for Rs. 18 from August 21

Kakinada: The Civil Supplies Department has made arrangements to sell BPT, ‘Sona masuri’ varieties rice at Rs. 18 a kilo at 19 designated locations from August 21.

Five kilos of Sona masuri (superfine) rice will be sold at the said price to each white / pink card holder per month, according to the Joint Collector G.S.R.K.R. Vijay Kumar.

He stated in a press release that common and fine varieties of rice would be sold at Rs. 14 and Rs. 16 to each card holder in a month in addition to the superfine variety.

The superfine rice will be sold at five places in Kakinada and five locations in Rajahmundry and at one location each in Samalkot, Anaparthi and Pithapuram.
