More trains sought on Gadag-Solapur route

Bijapur: Members of the Broadgauge Progress Monitoring Committee submitted a memorandum to Railway Board chairman Jenna urging him to fulfil their various demands, including introduction of new trains on Gadag-Solapur route going to be operational shortly.

The committee demanded that present Yeshwanthpur to Bagalkot train should be started to normal route to go to Bangalore via Bagalkot, Gadag and Guntakal. However, the train timing should be adjusted to reach Bangalore city by 8.30 a.m.

The Gol Gumbaz Express, which was available during meter gauge system between Solapur and Hubli should be started at the same time with a halt at important stations.

The Garib Rath AC train between Patna and Hospet, announced by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, should run via Gadag, Bijapur, Solapur, Daund, Allahabad and Varanasi, they said.
