Youth Congress agenda: padayatras to caution people against the BJP

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress President Krishna Byregowda on Tuesday said the Youth Congress would organise padayatras and door-to-door campaigns from August 25 to educate people to be cautious of the Bharatiya Janata Party and in particular the seven MLAs who had resigned their Assembly membership and joined the BJP. Mr. Byregowda told presspersons here that the Youth Congress would hold such campaigns in all the constituencies that were represented by the seven former MLAs who had joined the BJP. The campaign would take off from the Deodurg constituency in Raichur district. Mr. Byregowda, who is the MLA frome Byatarayanapura constituency in Bangalore, urged the State Government to develop the areas newly brought under the jurisdiction of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on a par with others developed parts of the city. The Government should come out with a concrete plan for the development of the newly included areas, he said.

The delay in the Government taking a decision on the “Akrama-Sakrama” scheme has only resulted in the public resorting to dubious means to carry out construction work, he said.
