State Energy Secretary Shrimat Pandey said here on Tuesday that the expansion programme for the plant had been included in the 11th Five Year Plan to bring self-reliance in power generation. Govt. gives go-aheadMr. Pandey said the State Government had given the administrative and financial go-ahead to the Vidyut Utpadan Nigam for installing the new units of the total capacity of 160 MW. The State Government will provide Rs.128 crore as share capital for the project to the Nigam. While the Vidyut Utpadan Nigam will start work on the project in the current financial year, the new units are expected to begin power production by 2010-11. On the project’s completion, the Ramgarh plant will supply an additional 30 lakh to 32 lakh units of electricity to the State.
