RI for two men

KULITHALAI: The Kulithalai Sub-Judge G. Ilangovan on Monday convicted and sentenced two persons to seven years rigorous imprisonment while acquitting three others in a case related to making of country bombs.

N. Gopalakrishnan (39) of Karuppathur in Karur district and Subash (38) of Sivanthipatti in Tirunelveli district were handed seven years RI. The Judge acquitted A. Raja (19), C. Kadir (27) and K. Punniamoorthy (24) of Mela Kabisthalam in Thanjavur district of all charges.

The cases were related to a blast that occurred on June 15, 2006 when the two convicted were making country bomb at Karuppathur.
