HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday said all loans taken by artisans belonging Backward Classes would be waived, if the party comes to power.

Addressing a meeting of the party’s State BC cell committee members, Mr. Naidu said an exclusive bank with Rs. 3,000 crore capital would be set up and another Rs. 2,000 crore fund created for extending soft loans to the artisans. The TDP leader went on to challenge Dr. Reddy over his claims that he had done a lot for the BCs and demanded a white paper. “Let the government compare its performance with what the previous Telugu Desam government did. The Chief Minister is only manipulating and blocking news of the Opposition by issuing government advertisements to newspapers.” But for shedding crocodile tears, the present government did nothing for various sections of BCs, he added.
