Rare occurrence

In full bloom: Brahma Kamalam, a flower said to be endemic only in the Himalayas, blossomed at the house of T.N. Murthy at Dayal Nagar in the city. Annapoorna (seen in the picture), wife of Murthy, has been taking care of the plant since 1980. According to Y. Raman, director, Vedic Sciences, the flower blossoms once a year.
