CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday handed out a warning to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Centre against what it termed as “direct, dangerous and provocative interference in the internal affairs of the Khalsa Panth and attempts to destroy the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee through the setting up of a parallel body in Haryana.” A release from the Akali Dal headquarters here said the party’s Core Committee passed a resolution holding Ms. Gandhi directly responsible for using the Haryana government to denigrate the supreme Sikh institution, endanger peace and communal harmony.
