Draft notification of ward delimitation

Bangalore: The State Government on Monday issued a draft notification increasing the number of wards of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to 147 from 100.
The Urban Development Department, which has issued the notification, has invited objections and suggestions to the proposals made in the notification from the people.
Any suggestions and objections can be filed within 30 days from August 18.
Delimitation of wards was necessitated with the formation of Greater Bangalore (BBMP) area by including seven city municipal councils, a town municipal council and 110 villages around Bangalore city in the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

Meanwhile, the BBMP will display copy of the notification on the notice boards of the offices of joint commissioners of eight zones, revenue and assistance revenue officers and elections wing from Wednesday.
The BBMP will also keep boxes to enable the people to drop suggestions and objections. Suggestions and objections can be mailed directly to the Principal Secretary, Department of Urban Development, 4th Floor, Vikas Soudha, Bangalore.
