Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: A rally will be held at Gill Stadium, ASC Centre & College, Bangalore, from August 20 to 22 to select boys for the Boys Sports Company in hockey and football disciplines. Boys aged between 12 and 16 as on August 20 are eligible. The minimum qualification is seventh standard pass. They should be fluent in English and Hindi. The minimum height is 153 cm and weight is 35 kg for 12-year-old boys; and 155 cm and 42 kg, respectively, for 13 year-old boys; and 160 cm and 47 kg, respectively, for 14 to 16 year-old boys. Selected boys will be provided boarding and lodging, education in English-medium school, coaching in hockey and football by experienced SAI coaches, TA/DA for participation in competitions, sports kit once a year, insurance cover, medical cover and other allowances. On passing the 10th standard examination, and on turning 17 years and 6 months, they will be put through a final selection process as applicable in the Army for enrolment as Sepoy (ASC).
