Bangalore leg of Worldwide Photo Walk will be held on Saturday Bangalore: A Saturday morning that promises to be full of clicks and clip-clops: shoes clip-clopping on Residency Road and cameras clicking away at the Bangalore leg of the Worldwide Photo Walk on August 23, starting at 11 a.m. The photo walk, being held on the occasion of the release of “Lightroom”, a photography software programme developed by Adobe, will be held in over 192 cities across the world. Bangalore is the only city in India where it is taking place. Leading the walk in Bangalore from Mayo Hall to Bangalore Club, is photographer Mahesh Shantaram. “There are many sights to be seen on the walk. And it might be interesting to walk up the road as opposed to walking down,” says Mr. Shantaram. After the walk, there will be a workshop between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., where he will discuss the software. But more than the software, Mr. Shantaram lays emphasis on the purpose of the workshop as being the need to edit pictures. “Editing is misinterpreted,” he says and explains that he wants to be able to communicate with the participants of the workshop the difference between editing and manipulation of photographs. The point behind the workshop is to be able to tell participants how photographers arrive at a photograph, and more so, a photo essay.
