A run for wellness

Thiruvananthapuram: The UST Global, a major IT services company employing over 5,000 people worldwide, organised a 2-km mass run on the Technopark campus here on Wednesday.

The event, titled UST Wellness Mile, was held to promote health awareness among Technopark employees. Over 1,000 UST Global employees participated in the event.

The company has appointed a Chief Wellness Officer to coordinate its health awareness programmes worldwide, according to a press release. The company will help its employees strike a healthy living routine. It will organise fitness check-ups, health camps and wellness programmes.

The company will give daily health tips to its employees and ensure that healthy food is served at company facilities.

India’s emergence as the IT services capital of the world has resulted in drastic lifestyle changes for thousands of IT professionals across the country, says Barry Newton, UST Global.”
