Help student’s family: Chandy

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy has asked the government to provide a financial assistance of Rs.2 lakh to the family of Aswathy, daughter of Kumaran and Praseetha of Thrissilery Vattakunnel in Mananthavady who had committed suicide because she did not get admission for Plus One.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Mr. Chandy said she was a victim of the government’s single window admission system.

He felt that the government had the responsibility to help Aswathy’s heartbroken parents who lost their daughter due to the wrong policy of admission of the government.
