BERHAMPUR: The Berhampur University has directed the MKCG Medical College to stop admission into two post graduate courses due to lack of infrastructure and faculty. According to sources, the Berhampur University has written to the medical college as per the norms and instructions of the Medical Council of India (MCI) to fulfil all infrastructure and faculty lacking in microbiology and radio-diagnostics departments. The university has said no admission should be made into these two post graduate courses unless the deficiencies are met with. The administrative officer of the medical college, Ranjan Sharma accepted this recent directive from the university as well as the infrastructural deficiencies of the said departments. The radio-diagnostics department has vacancies of one associate professor, one assistant professor and a tutor. According to sources the university has also pointed out that the head of department of microbiology was not having necessary qualification.
