New V-Cs appointed

HYDERABAD: The government, on Wednesday appointed four new Vice-Chancellors for the four new Universities created from the existing Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU).

All the Vice-Chancellors will have a three-year term from the date of appointment.

D.N. Reddy, principal, Osmania University College of Engineering, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Hyderabad while Allam Appa Rao, professor of Andhra University College of Engineering, has been appointed as the V-C of JNTU Kakinada. Prof. B. Krishna Gandhi, presently principal of JNTU College of Fine Arts, will be the Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Ananthapur.

The School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), JNTU that has been made into a separate University will be headed by P. Padmavathi, presently working as the principal of the SPA.

Prof. D.N. Reddy, is credited with initiating several academic reforms during his tenure as principal of OUCE.
