Lucknow: The State Government on Wednesday said that it would hold a meeting under the chairman of the legislative council to provide facilities to Arabi and Sanaskrit teachers as per the State Government employees. Replying to the adjournment notice moved by members of teachers group during zero hour, Leader of the House Swami Prasad Maurya said that the issue was important and he would soon hold a meeting in this regard with concerned ministers in presence of chairman of the legislative council Sukhram Singh Yadav. Earlier, member of teachers group Subhash Chandra Sharma said that teachers were not given pay-scale as promised by state governments. The group members also demanded scrapping of the committee led by retired IAS officer Jagmohan Lal Bajaj for implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations. “When the Chief Minister has made an announcement to implement the recommendations of Sixth Pay Commission there is no need of Bajaj committee,” leader of teachers group Om Prakash Sharma said. Leader of the House, later assured that the promise by Mayawati of an increased pay from December 1 would be met at any cost . — PTI
