Lucknow: Thirty-one people were killed and over 100 injured since Tuesday evening in heavy rains that lashed Uttar Pradesh triggering house collapses, flooding low-lying areas and snarling road traffic. Fifteen people died in heavy downpours in Sitapur, eight in Varanasi, six in Barabanki and one each in Gonda and Jaunpur districts.
