“Sensitise rural women to State welfare schemes”

Staff Reporter

KARUR: Non-governmental organisations should sensitise rural women to the various government welfare schemes for the full benefits to reach all people, Social Welfare Board chairperson Rokkiah Malik alias Salma has said.

Participating in a meeting of NGOs here recently, Ms. Salma called upon the NGOs to provide to the Board feedback on the issues and the way they were solved. That would provide a new dimension to the Board’s activities, she added. People should make use of the support the State Government was extending to orphanages, destitute homes, working women’s hostel, etc., she said.
