Bomb kills dog near Bannerghatta

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A crude bomb went off on the fringes of Bannerghatta National Park in C.K. Palya on Wednesday evening. A stray dog was killed and another was critically injured following the explosion.

According to Inspector-General of Police (Central) Kamal Panth, the two dogs were foraging for food near a eucalyptus grove. One of the dogs bit the object, which exploded and blew its head off while the other animal suffered serious injuries. Mr. Panth said it was a crude bomb similar to the illegal ones used against wild boars. “We are searching for the remnants of the explosive,” he said.
