Man arrested in cheating case

The Punjagutta police on Wednesday arrested M.V. Jagadishwar, 38, director of EPE Industries India Private Limited, in a cheating case. According to the sub-inspector K. Nageswara Rao, he collected Rs. 7.67 lakh from an industrialist assuring to supply containers, but failed to deliver the same. Investigation revealed that Jagadishwar cannot manufacture such containers and cheated the industrialist, the SI said.

Held for impersonation

The Narayanaguda police on Wednesday arrested a third-year engineering student Praveen Kumar on charge of impersonation. Kumar’s friend Mohd. Abdul Hakeem, MCA student of SVG Degree College in Hyderguda, had to write first-year backlog exam. He substituted Hakeem’s photograph on the hall-ticket with that of his and tried to write the exam only to be caught by the invigilator, the Inspector Jogaiah said.
