“Scotch rumours on job scheme”

Staff Reporter

ARIYALUR: The district administration has appealed to villagers not to believe rumours being spread by vested interests about the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme. In a communication, Collector R. Sudalaikannan said that villagers benefiting from the programme, which entitles an individual to 100 days of work in a year, are paid only in accordance with the extent of work they put in. In case of any shortcoming in the implementation of the scheme, villagers can contact the Block Development Officers or approach the District Collector.
