Solatium for Rettanai incident victim

VILLUPURAM: Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy on Wednesday handed over a cheque for Rs. 50,000 to the parents of Murthy who was injured in the recent police action at Rettanai near Tindivanam. He was recuperating in the Puducherry government hospital. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi sanctioned the amount from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.

District Collector R. Palanisamy and S. Pushparaj, MLA, accompanied the Minister.

Mr. Ponmudy said that on the direction of the Chief Minister he had come to hand over the cheque to the 17-year-old boy and to console his family.
