Mumbai’s gesture to Sushil Kumar

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has announced an award of Rs. 5 lakh for Sushil Kumar, who won the bronze medal on Wednesday in the 66kg freestyle wrestling at the Beijing Olympics.

Mr. Deshmukh said that Sushil Kumar had created history by winning a medal and is the second Indian to do so.

Kashaba Jadhav from Maharashtra won a medal in 1952 in weightlifting.
