New scheme for retired railway staff

NEW DELHI: The Railways have introduced a pilot scheme of “cashless service” for retired employees liberalised health scheme card holders on an experimental basis. Under it, retired railway employees registered for smart card would be able to undertake medical treatment in existing recognised private hospitals of the National Capital Region. The cost of the card and brochure would be Rs.120 each. The cashless card will be valid for one year from August 22 to August 21, 2009.
