Celebrating Janmashtami with the star kid

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: Bollywood child actor Darsheel Safary has become a role model for children across the country after his sensitive performance of a dyslexic student in Aamir Khan’s film “Taare Zameen Par”.

Tapping his extraordinary talent on the small screen, Zee Cinema will air a special episode on August 24 in which Darsheel along with the winners of the “Din Mein Taare Gino” contest will celebrate Janmashtami with their participation in the games of “Dahi Handi”. Darsheel will lead the celebrations of the birth of Lord Krishna in a unique way in the half-an-hour episode, aptly titled “Darsheel Aala Re”.

The mischievous child actor did not let the participants reach the ‘matki’ by constantly pulling them down. He insisted in conversing with them in their mother tongues that he could barely manage. Darsheel won everyone’s heart with his charm and affection.

Sharing his experience, Darsheel says: “It was great fun shooting with so many new friends. The entire experience reminded me of the shooting of my movie. We had a lot of fun while shooting and the games were very exciting and funny. Also this was the first time I had interacted with kids from other parts of the country. It was great to know that they really liked my acting and loved my debut movie.”
