CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) has made 12.50 lakh packets of BT Cotton seeds of all varieties available to farmers of the State, at reasonable prices to encourage cotton cultivation. Announcing this here on Friday, Cooperation Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said HAFED’s latest venture will prove to be a boon for the cotton growers of the State. The Federation would supply BT Cotton seeds through its network of Cooperative Marketing Societies located in cotton growing districts like Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar, Bhiwani, Jind and Rohtak. Cut in cotton price tooMr. Chatha added that HAFED has also taken the initiative of reducing the market price of BT cotton per packet from Rs.750 to Rs.700.
