Students’ plea to administration

Staff Reporter

ATTUR: Students and teachers of Attur Government Arts College and members of various organisations urged the district administration to remove fresh encroachments on the college premises. They pointed out that the administration removed the encroachments on the college premises a few weeks ago. But a few persons had again encroached upon a portion of the college land and created a mud path. Condemning the act, people urged the revenue department to initiate immediate steps to remove the encroachments and install a fence around the college lands.

Students of the college also blocked traffic on Attur – Talavasal Main Road on Thursday demanding the administration to sort out their problem. The college provides opportunities for a large number of poor students from Attur, Gengavalli and Talavasal regions to pursue higher education, they pointed out.
