Kozhikode: Questions were raised on the Centre’s ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) at a seminar on ‘SIMI ban - facts in black and white’ organised by the Minority Rights Watch (MRW), a self-styled human rights organisation, at Nalanda Auditorium here on Friday. One of the key speakers was Ajit Sahi, editor-at-large, Tehelka magazine. Inaugurating the seminar, National Development Front (NDF) supreme council member and Thejas editor P. Koya said it was unfair to ban SIMI since it activists had done no terrorist activities. The Centre banned SIMI on the basis of inputs received from the U.S. and Israel.
